AWRO has reached an agreement with the American Company, the Advantage Biomedical Services LLC, to work jointly in Afghanistan in providing healthcare services, trainings, medical drugs quality tests, controlling, and others. This has helped AWRO in becoming more skilled and confident about the provision of quality healthcare services and workshops. Considering the initial needs, more than 10,000 people working at different institutions, were provided with more than 800 trainings and capacity building sessions in 31 provinces on first aid assistances, Nutrition, Health and Safety by AWRO. The target beneficiaries were provided with the information and knowledge on initial health services in case any injuries occur, and the ways on how to prevent any loss to the patients. Hundreds of first aid awareness trainings have been conducted in more than 16 provinces of Afghanistan by the AWRO. On the other hand, AWRO has provided trainings and orientations to different family heads in remote areas where most of the people are deprived from education and Health related information. This has been a great phenomenon which AWRO has managed to achieve, providing the people with the information and practical trainings which could save a life in case an accident occurs.

Conjoining health related cases with the Governmental Security Institutions

Health cases and patients referred to hospitals have actually been even violence or criminal cases, which some of the staff working in the hospitals do not know about. Studies show that injured women carried to hospitals, in most cases, are not asked or interrogated about the reason behind their injuries. On the other hand, women’s health related issues, most of which seem to be violence cases, have been condoned by the doctors and staff working at different levels in hospitals and healthcare centers. AWRO conducted a survey in order to find a solution for the above-mentioned issues where several teams were allocated, in cooperation with the ministry of Public Health, to assess the rates of such cases in different provinces. The studies’ result found that most of the patients having complaints against the doctors, have been threatened and silenced forcibly even by the doctors or the hospital heads in order to prevent a stain on their reputation and name. This was where AWRO designed a program consist of several trainings and on-site trainings for the staff working in hospitals in order to conjoin health cases referred to the hospitals with the government institutions. More than 10 different training sessions were conducted in order to capacitate the staff on the matter and to prevent any issues from getting occurred in the future. Besides, a public awareness program was conducted, and different teams were assigned to convey the messages to the people deprived of such information in order to bring a change in their behaviors and reactions against such issues.
